Come play in clay!  

Classes are 6 weeks long and meets once per week for 2.5 hours.  25 Lbs of clay, studio glaze, equipment, tools and firing is included in the cost of the class.  

Additional clay must  be purchased at the studio and includes the cost of glaze and kiln firing.        

Beginning Hand building               

Hand building is an alternative way of making functional and sculptural ceramics.  In this class, we will begin with basic information about clay and commonly used tools.  Each week we will delve into a different construction process such as pinch pots, coils, and slabs.  A variety of decorative and finishing techniques using clay and glazes will also be explored.  

Beginning Wheel Throwing          

This is the class to learn the basics of Wheel-thrown pottery.  Each class will have a demonstration with super cool tips.  The beginning potter will work on the wheel to learn the basic skills like centering and throwing bowl and cylinder forms. Students are encouraged to progress and experiment at their own speed.  Students will have the opportunity to glaze and fire their work.  Studio safety and etiquette will be reinforced throughout the class.

Mini Wheel Throwing (Beginner)     

Gather some friends and try this together- we think you’ll like it! T Pots Pottery is offering a shorter class for those people who have always wanted to try the potter’s wheel but don’t want to make an 6 week commitment until they were sure they liked it.  People who have never worked in clay are welcome.  You will learn the basics of wheel throwing. (See Beginners Wheel Throwing above)

Advanced Beginner Wheel Throwing   

This is the class for those who feel comfortable centering and pulling basic forms and want to expand of those skills.In this class, we continue to build on the basics of wheel throwing the cylinder and bowl forms.  Students will also learn new skills including handles, manipulating clay and throwing more advanced forms.    Each class will have a demonstration with super cool tips.  Students are encouraged to progress and experiment at their own speed.  Students will have the opportunity to glaze and fire their work.  

Intermediate Wheel Throwing                  

So you feel comfortable with basic throwing (centering and throwing cylinder and bowl shapes),  The intermediate/ advanced students will be learning more advanced functional and decorative projects such as dinnerware, lidded jars and casseroles, goblets,  two-piece vases, etc.

Clay Drop In    

 An excellent time for adults, who are interested in experimenting with hand building clay or wheel throwing.  All levels welcome.  This is the perfect time to find out if you want to learn more while having a fun relaxed time.  Cost includes 3 hrs of studio time and clay.  Optional: $10 per piece if you wish us to finish (glaze and fire) your creations.

Mud Buddies are designed to give you and your friends a unique and fun time. Mud Buddies are any group of adults who are looking for a fun outing.  We provide everything you need. All you have to do is come ready to have a good time, and remember to wear clothes that can get dirty (this includes shoes). It’s a great idea for Girls’ or Guys’ Night Out, something special to entertain visiting guests, a family event or just something new to do with your friends.
